Mismatch
Most often than not meeting people for the first time feels weird. Sometimes we seem not to like anything about them. Other times we judge them from our minds. Without knowing we try to fit people into our shoes. When their attitude and behavior are not what we expect to see then we conclude on, they are bad.
Different Perspective
That use to be my way of seeing things, but like 5 years ago, I met this lady who in my opinion was “supposed” to be a bad girl. At least by my standards. From her dressing to the way she walks and the way she uses social media ie the things she posts etc. Her dressings to me were very provocating like I said this is all my personal opinion about her. We all do this on a daily basis. Based on our upbringing we are tempted to judge people sometimes without even knowing.
Getting Closer
At some point, I decided to get closer to her. It was very interesting getting to know her. At first, approach, getting closer, the reception was super awesome. We became friends and we call each other to check and all that. To put things short I got it all wrong to judge her like that. The way she dressed was because she totally sees nothing wrong with it. Very wrong to judge people just by looking at them. You may have to listen to them to conclude.
She Might Be Feeling the Same
To be honest, seeing her from a distance you would start crushing on her. No matter how I felt, I never made any move. I didn't because I felt she wasn't the girl for me. At least from the way I see her dress. I was afraid to tell her what I was feeling because thought she isn't my type and was above me. Felt her class was too much and that the “maintenance cost” was going to be too high. I was all wrong, deep in there she was feeling and falling for me. But you see in Ghana women don’t make the first move, the guy has to always make the move.
Lessons Learnt
After this short and brief experience, I drew a few conclusions. And I since then have used them effectively in my life.
- Be bold and make a choice. After all, what is the worst that can happen?
- Life goes on. Even if it doesn't work
- Live your life well you might not know who is watching and admiring you
Life goes on anyway, I am sure she is happy where she is now.
