Poverty mindset

As usual, I will start by mentioning my name, Bright Ahedor from the southern part of Ghana. The aim of this post is to share with you how I managed to escape from some mindsets and attitudes that will not help on the journey to becoming financially independent. This post is inspired by some books I read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, and Poverty Mindset Vrs Abundance Mindset by Sunday Adelaja.

Growing up I have always worried about why some people have it all and some are struggling to even find food to eat. I always taught life isn’t fair and that life is so cruel to some people. But as a Christian, a text in Romans 2:11 changed my perception on the subject. The text reads, “For God does not show favouritism.”. This suggests that God does not have a favourite, He does good to whoever he accepts. Act 10: 34–35 reads, “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation, he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.” You might say that in its self is favouritism. But you see this is the very thing I want to share some light on in this post. I believe there are some set of rules and regulations that things go by in this world. The world has some principles so is everything in the world. Money and wealth have some set of principles which you have to abide by. It is like a football game if you don’t play by the rules you are out. We often use this quote from the Bible, Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: …

To better put, to break off from poverty you must change your way of thinking. If you listen to some people carefully you will realize that they are not ready for wealth. Talking to them, you will know deep in your heart that these people will by no means become rich, it is not a curse but that is just the rule. The reason is simple, they have no idea how money works. Even if they by accident become rich, they will lose it all. One rich man said, becoming rich is in two stages accumulating the wealth and keeping the wealth. He said the difficult part is keeping your wealth. I watched a documentary on youtube some time ago about some people who became rich by lottery and how they lost it all. They were not prepared for the money before it came. Just spent some time and watch it here. Let me share 3 mindsets about money that is hindering you from getting it.

Money is Evil. If you are always caught up in the fear of money because you think money is evil then you have a big problem. Biblically it not said that money is evil, it is the love for money that becomes evil. It is when you are ready to do anything regardless to get the money that brings the problem. If you think money is evil then why did you use the evil substance to buy data to read this post?. My friend, you can do ten times what you are doing right now if only you had enough money. Stop thinking money is evil and start working to getting lots of money. People even think that too much money corrupts people. On the contrary, I believe so much money reveals who you really are. Money is just a multiplying factor to propel you into your true calling.

Money is Not Everything. Yes, no one is saying money is everything. In fact, we all agree that money is not everything. If you find yourself arguing for this statement always then you are driving money away. The point is money is not everything but money can be used to do most things. This is something I needed to understand a long time ago. I had to convince myself that money is not everything. I had to tell myself that having money does not mean you have everything. Even as am writing this post, I am in a four ⭐️ hotel far away from home with my laptop as I prepare for my breakfast. Yes, I booked the hotel with money. So what do you still say, money can do most things.

Money is for Some People Only. Thinking that money is for a selected few or only a particular group of people is something you need to deal with. Some people still think as for my family, we are not good with money. Come to think of it, if you think your family is not good with money, then why should the money come to you in the first place?.

If you don’t change your mindset about money, no matter how much money you have you still will be poor. To be rich starts from the mind. Making money starts from the mind. To change your life you have to change your thinking first.
